Letters of appreciation for the participation of the Presidential Guard in the celebrations of the Diaspora in America

As part of the celebrations of the National Anniversary of March 25, 1821, and following requests from diaspora organizations, a detachment of the Presidential Guard, accompanied by Officers of the Military Office of the Presidency of the Hellenic Republic, traveled to the United States of America to participate in the commemorative events organized by the Diaspora in Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and San Francisco.

For this particularly honorable occasion, the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of New England, the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia, the Federation of Hellenic American Organizations of Illinois “Enosis” and the United Hellenic American Societies of California sent letters of appreciation to the President of the Republic Constantine An. Tassoulas, expressing their gratitude and emotion for the participation of the Presidential Guard in the celebrations.

As they point out, its presence highlighted the significance of this national anniversary in a deeply moving way and it was an act of high symbolism, which lent prestige, historical depth and splendor to the events, while at the same time it strengthened the sense of national pride and unity among the Greek Diaspora.

Meanwhile, it reaffirmed in practice the continued care and support of the Greek State for the Diaspora, reminding everyone that, despite the geographical distance, the ties with the homeland remain unbreakable, vibrant and deeply rooted.
