Meeting with a group of Greek-American students from the American–Hellenic Institute (AHI)

The President of the Hellenic Republic Constantine An. Tassoulas received the President & CEO of the American-Hellenic Institute – (AHI), Mr. Nick Larigakis and a group of Greek-American students in the framework of the annual educational trip on foreign policy issues of the Institute.

Mr. Tassoulas discussed with the students the close and multifaceted relations between Greece and the United States, with an emphasis on cooperation in the areas of defense, security and energy. He referred to Greek-Turkish relations and the Cyprus issue, as well as the challenges Greece faces in the current geopolitical environment.

Mr. Tassoulas informed the students about his role and responsibilities and spoke to them about their Greek roots and their ties to the land of their ancestors, which he encouraged them to preserve.

This was preceded by a tour of the Presidential Mansion and followed by a tour of the Presidential Guard.

The delegation was accompanied by Mr. Leon Andris, Chairman of the AHIF, Ms. Maria Wills, Secretary of the AHI Board of Directors, Mr. Will Martin, Director of the AHI Legislative Department and Vice Admiral (ret.) and President of the AHI Athens Chapter, Mr. Vasileios Kyriazis.
