The President of the Hellenic Republic Constantine An. Tassoulas, contacted yesterday His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and the new Archbishop of Sinai, Farran and Raitho and Hegoumen of the Holy Monastery of St. Catherine of the God-trodden Mount Sinai Mr. Symeon, on the occasion of the latter’s ordination at the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
Mr. Tassoulas thanked the Patriarch of Jerusalem for his spiritual contribution to the succession process in the Archdiocese of Sinai and congratulated the new Archbishop on his election as Hegoumen and his ordination, wishing that the new page opening in the historical course of the Monastery of St. Catherine of Sinai will mark the final settlement of the status and the safeguarding of the rights of the Monastery, as they have been exercised for 15 centuries with the unwavering support of the Greek State.
