Mr. Tassoulas, during his meeting with Mr. Christodoulides, thanked him for the great honor that the Republic of Cyprus has done, at his initiative, to proceed with the decoration of the war flag of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus , thus recognizing the decisive contribution of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus in countering the Turkish aggression on the island, both during the period 1963-64 and during the period of the illegal Turkish invasion of operation Attila and in particular its role in preventing the capture of the whole of Nicosia by the Turks.
The President of the Republic also discussed with Mr. Christodoulides issues related to the upcoming Cypriot Presidency of the European Council that are of interest to both countries, such as the preparation of the next Multiannual Financial Framework.
