 This
is the largest room in the Presidential Mansion and it is here that
important receptions and formal dinners take place.
The room constitutes the latest addition to the original building.
It was constructed in 1962 by Alexander Baltatzis for the marriage
of Princess Sophia, the eldest daughter of King Paul, to Prince
Don Juan Carlos, now the King of Spain.
The interior decor of the Reception Hall is similar in style to
that of the Credentials' Lounge, of which it is a continuation at
a slightly higher level. When a large number of guests are invited,
the two adjoining rooms are used.
 Adorning
the walls are paintings by P.Prosalentis, B. Hadzis and K.Volanakis
on loan from the National Gallery, as well as a huge tapestry depicting
the coronation of the Queen of Sheba.
