To
the left of the Entrance Hall, this is the room where those who wish
to meet with the President of the Republic are temporarily accommodated.
The room is lit by two large windows which overlook the garden
on Herod Atticus Road. The walls are adorned with oil paintings
by Greek artists, on loan from the National Gallery.
On
the left and right of the fireplace hang "War Scene" by T. Vrizakis
and "The Death of Markos Botsaris" by D. Tsokos and between the
two windows is "A Ship in a Storm" by B. Hadzis. The Greek theme
in these paintings is continued in other works in the room: "Warriors
at Rest" by Vrizakis, "The Acropolis at the time of Pericles" by
B. Lantzas and "The Acropolis" by Curzon.
